Shelton Benjamin
A two-time All-American heavyweight wrestler at the University of Minnesota, Shelton Benjamin effortlessly transitioned those skills into a professional wrestling career. Initially joining WWE in 2000 after graduating college, Benjamin worked with the company for the best part of 16 years during two spells. Benjamin is a three-time WWE Tag Team Champion (twice with Charlies Haas and once with Cedric Alexander), a three-time Intercontinental Champion, and a one-time United States Champion. He is a wrestler you could put in any spot on the card and be guaranteed a high work rate, immense technical ability, and the right crowd reaction.
Despite his lengthy list of professional and personal accomplishments, Benjamin’s most iconic WWE moment will always be eating the sole of Shawn Michaels’ boot as ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ delivered his best-ever Sweet Chin Music to a flying Benjamin on a 2005 episode of ‘Monday Night Raw.‘ This was an example of Benjamin making everyone around him look better, which is the best compliment you can give someone in the wrestling business.
Ashley Sebera FKA Dana Brooke
Going under the ring name Dana Brooke, Sebera joined WWE in 2013 and was assigned to the Performance Center. She worked for the company for a decade before her 2023 release, working effectively both as a heel and a face, depending on what was asked of her. A 15-time WWE 24/7 Champion, Brooke also worked successfully as a fitness model and bodybuilder during the first few years of her WWE contract.
Fitness models have come and gone from WWE screens constantly over the years. Sebara stayed tenured with the company as long as she did because of her dedication to improving her skill, move set, and TV personality. Working hard is not a given in the wrestling business, but Sebera is a shining example of where hard work can take someone without experience when they have the drive to be great.
Benjamin and Sebera join an ever-growing list of superstars signed to appear at New England Fan Fest 9. They will be joined by ‘The Worm’ Dennis Rodman, trailblazing women’s wrestling icon Trish Stratus, and iconic WCW and WWF/E Superstar Ron ‘Farooq’ Simmons, with more Superstars set to be announced in the coming weeks.
