New England Fan Fest 9 is pleased to announce its first legend with trailblazing WWE Superstar Trish Stratus has signed to appear at the show on February 17 at the Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick.
- Trish Stratus
It is impossible to write the history of women’s wrestling without the legendary Trish Stratus. The former fitness model first joined WWE in 1999 at the height of the attitude era and was used as a manager and valet. It was Stratus’ work ethic, talent, and natural popularity that saw her rise rapidly through the ranks, with hours of dedication thrown into learning her craft while performing on the biggest stage in the industry.
Trish blossomed into a bonafide icon with seven WWE Women’s Championships to her name. She was also a four-time Woman of the Year winner per Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Her rivalry with Lita was one of the first in women’s wrestling at the WWE level to really take off with fans and show women could draw like men. Trish is on everyone’s women’s wrestling Mount Rushmore, and she is the inspiration for the current generation of women’s superstars, who all cite the Canadian as a reason they got into wrestling.
Trish is the headline name announced so far for New England Fan Fest 9. She will be joined by Teddy Long – who will be sure to announce a tag team match or two – with more Superstars set to be announced in the coming weeks.
